Arizona is beautiful. It had mountains, valleys and the Grand Canyon. It is happening and growing. Oklahoma is just a place people go to die.

One begins to sense a serious sense of confusion reigning within the head of the OP. Hasn't he recently started a thread proclaiming Iowa to be the "real America?" And now, it appears that even the "real America" can't measure up to his exceptionally exacting standards. Oh well, time to pack up the wagons and head for Oklahoma.

I hope that state can finally fill his stars-and-stripes-spangled bill. (It seems to me that I recall his original appearance here on C-D referred to Minnesota as his home sod. Perhaps none of the 50 states will prove to be satisfactory, given time).

He is a conservative and like all conservatives, they are a dwindling dying bunch. They realize that the light of liberalism is shining on them and like roaches, they try to run to any dark place- like Oklahoma or S Caroline- where they can hide. They just cannot face the fact that America is changing. We are less white and more multi racial. Homosexuality is becoming a normal human thing. Religion is becoming less and less a part of the American landscape. We are moving into a more European way of life.

So why, then, do Christians spend so much time complaining about what's on TV and trying to pass morality laws to legislate it?

Parts of it. Some sections of Dallas are wet, some are not. Which means you can potentially have to drive half-an-hour to buy beer. And no, not all counties in Texas are wet. It's completely random. I live in an apartment complex in North Dallas that had a grocery store 2 minutes away that couldn't sell beer or wine or liquor. I had to drive 15 minutes out of the way to go to a beer store.

Furthermore, you can't buy hard liquor on Sunday (it might be a sin), hard liquor after 9:00, beer after midnight...the list goes on.

And when they try and change the laws, it's always the preachers raising the most fuss.

well then maybe AA is in your future......ever hear of voting out who you don't want in office, that goes for local offices too. Vote out who you want out and then vote in who you do want, pretty easy.....

Ah sounds nice. I have passed through Oklahoma twice and never really saw anything worth stopping for. I like mountains I love beautiful scenery as well. How is the job situation in Arizona?

I make fun of Muslims, doesn't bother me. I just deal with Christians more and so do most people, considering there are more of them in the US. If Muslims ever gain the political clout (i.e. saying 'This candidate doesn't believe in ALLAH' and somehow it's relevant) that Christians currently have, then you will see a lot more people denouncing the religion, I can guarantee you that.

Wow. And you still think the bible is relevant? I studied the bible (and religions for that matter) in college and high school and went to more churches and bible studies than I can count. I've read the bible front to back (included the omitted texts) more times than I can remember.

Going to bible study groups (which were EXTREMELY popular when I was in high school) cemented my Atheism.
