McCartney is a huge environmentalist. Obama is more concerned with the party for McCartney than the oil spill it seems.

Sorry! I've seen McCartney's yacht. He cannot be an environmentalist any more than Gore. I, on the other hand, do not own a yacht, mansion or jet. I am a super environmentalist because I drive a Ford Explorer, live in a three bedroom house and fly coach.

Hear that enviro-pigs U2?

Listening Earth hating Rolling Stones?

The same goes for you Springsteen!

Live like a regular person with a normal carbon-footprint then ***** about the oil in the Gulf. You'll have cred when Leer jets are powered by solar panels. Until then ****!

McCartney put the beatdown on the idiot frat boy from Texas.

Arguably one of the worlds greatest musicians, from (again, arguably) the greatest rock band in history. (Beatles get my vote)

George W. Bush is the worst President in United States history. Not even arguable.

I'll take McCartney over Bush anyday, thanks.

HAHAHAHAHAHA doesn't take long before Bush's name is in the thread. We need to keep track and award the thread that has the most, "Bush did it, not Obama" a razzy award.

McCartney has every right to express his views and of course he would laud the current President, the one throwing the party. In an article elsewhere on the web, some people thought the fact that a foreigner like him was criticizing a President was quite egregious. Some people just don't think that celebrities should be allowed to have political opinions. Um, that certainly sounds unAmerican to me. The only reason we know they have political opinions is precisely because they are in the spotlight. Do people begrudge them that? Do they feel slighted because they feel their opinion is nowhere to be found? Curious, the psychology of this tendency...

The McCartney fete took months to plan and prepare for, before the oil spill took center stage. To criticize Obama for having fun in the White House is a bit unfair. Presidential logistics are notoriously glacial in speed. Canceling the event would not have calmed his detractors one bit, so, might as well just go on with it. You can't please everyone.
