If the government is supposed to be Christian (anti-abortion, anti-gay),
then the government should give money to the poor.

Matthew 19 - Passage*Lookup - New International Version - BibleGateway.com

21Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

And why are liberals so selective about what Jesus says anyway?? Why do Liberals even care since most Liberals don't even read the Bible or go to church?? How about the part when Jesus said man was made for a woman? (Mark 10:7-9) OOPS! I guess we skip that part! Now all of a sudden you wanna bring Jesus' words into raising taxes! If you knew what you were talking about, you'd know that He was addressing something that is the responsibility of the church...for believers not government! Government was created to protect and defend....to keep order and execute justice (Romans 13).

So just stop with the Jesus stuff. Especially if you ain't gonna listen to "EVERYTHING" He said.

I'd love to see your proof that Liberals (most) do not go to church or read the Bible.

More importantly IMO is, is there a role for religion in government - and I say yes.

A for instance; FBO's (Faith Based Organizations) are currently used to help our people

Because the Bible teaches against everything Liberals support.

Gay lifestyle
Abortion
Sex before marriage
Drug use

Need I go on?

Yes, you do need to go on. For there are MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of Liberals who go to church. Who read the Bible.

Barack Obama is a good example of one.

Since charitable giving is highest among people of faith (the majority of whom are socially and politicall conservative) - I'm not seeing the OP's point here???

Liberals esp radical libs expect and demand goverment action using other people's money - lol they never pony up their own.

Hehe - this thread is funny.

I notice you are getting nothing but politicians answers. No real direct response, just bs excuses.
Gotta love that.
Kind of answers your question.
