Just being theoretical, how far would you think the world is from being threaten by one political power. For example, a country threatening to use a nuclear weapon that could swift across the globe if all do not fall under their power; whether this would just be a scare tactic or an actual threat do anyone think this type of political power could be likely ...10, 50 etc... years from now? What is the solution to the situation, or have such scare tactics/ threats already been done ( speaking globaly not just two countries at war).

(Was just recently reading an article about nuclear weapons and prompted this question.)

I assume these are just a few reasons why nations try to prevent the construction of nuclear weapons.

That is a good question although I do think someone is going to drop a nuke before then. If things keep going like they are with NK and Iran, I think it will be like 5 years or so until one detonates. I'm not being a fear monger, I'm just looking at the reality of the situation in the world today.

There is a big difference between a nuke 'going off' somewhere and some 'country' telling the rest of the world "on your knee's or we will nuke you!". The U.S., Great Britain, Israel, maybe France already have that capability. Hasn't happened that I know of.
