Because BP's hands are in the pockets of the government...and the government's hands are in the pockets of Big Oil. They don't want this to be fixed, or else it would be! Why do they not want this fixed? There's no profit in it for them that way....the environmental damage...not even speaking of the effects it will have upon humanity! will last for decades!...and THIS is EXACTLY the way obama wants it...he wants the people to fall on their knees and beg big government to come in and "take over!" and "fix everything!"...by feeding starving people...homeless people...destitute people....desperate people!!!....their motto is after all..."NEVER WASTE A GOOD CRISIS!!!!"...wellll....here ya go obama...here ya go!...

This is pure crazy talk.

If the government were to step in, the same people slamming Obama for not doing so sooner would be having a field day sniveling over "big government". What a circle.

Soon the conspiracy theorists will surface...Obama must have created the thing himself as some sort of plot.

IMO---the government has no common sense and I feel there is a lot more going on then we are being led to believe.

Well... for starters I'd imagine there isn't enough hay and it will cause problems elsewhere. Might be useful for spot solution but not as a overall solution. Farmers don't grow hay just for the heck of it, they use it and if you took a large quantity of it out the supply chain you're going to cause problems somewhere. It would certainly drive the price through the roof...

Who cares, gas prices are going to go through the roof. I imagine farmers would be delighted to supply hay. I can't believe Obama and BP want this thing to get any bigger. I agree, the government can't do much right so why not get out of the way and let the people give it a try instead of tying their hands. There has been suggestions but no follow up from the government. Maybe the environmentalists are still running the show. I don't know what would be wrong with hay since it is organic.
