Proves Obama's heralded oratory skills are just media hype.
The UMW Arena---where the graduation was held---holds 5,000 people and the camera caught one sleepy teenager while 4,999 others cheered. Did you say the same thing about the boy who slept behind Bush when he gave a speech at a graduation?
Poor kid. He'll never live this one down. He will be forever be remembered by his entire class as "the one who fell asleep during the President's commencement speech". At their 25th year class reunion, no doubt the video of this will be hauled out and played.
The speech was great & my cousin graduated although I couldn't make it..I graduated from that school in 2008 and I'm so proud of it. I hope they win next year as well...
He'd been up since early morning and busy with choir and commencement practice all day and that was the first time all day he'd had a chance to relax. The principal of his school was interviewed on our local news about it. The commencement was awesome. We saw it all live here from the point the president's plane landed to his departure. He rocked the place and the whole community.
I heard there was so much security and thats why nobody got any sleep.
hey, he did better than my child.. since if Obama was going to be giving the speech at my childrens school.. well, lets just say, they wouldnt be there.
Obviously too much information of substance for the young fella to absorb in such a short time. This of course contrasts with dozing off during an empty-headed speech by the village idiot due to lack of meaningful information.

I sure wouldn't deny my kids the opportunity to see close up how things like the Secret Service works and the other logistics it takes to bring a president to an event, no matter how I felt about the politics of that president. It's been a great civics lesson for those kids and the opportunity that might not ever come along in one's life time.
He must have been partying hardy the night before!
