Just drove home from Coral Springs yesterday and looked for the exact location of the truck weight station. It is OVER 6 MILES away from the exit for Cobblestone - south of the Hobe Sound exit on I95.

If you are referring to my post, I am not concerned about a weigh station in Hobe Sound but the LANDFILL directly behind Cobblestone off Busch Road and Martin Hwy which is ONE MILE from the neighborhood.

ok. Given the flow of this thread and that I am the one who initiated it, I simply thought your post about the six miles was in response to my post (which came immediately before yours). That is how conversation typically goes....
??? and frankly confused by the tone of your post ?? ("no... why would I")

Anyway have a nice day!

sorry, I didn't post it as a "tone of voice"...just as a fact since the postings prior to your all had to do with the weigh station

We moved into Stuart West in Jan and had the same concerns about the community but the landfill is shutdown and has been for years and it's also lined. We've tested our water constantly and the water proves to be actually better than the Stuart city water. I actually fish in the canals almost everyday behind our home and have never caught more bass in my life...the wildlife is absolutely abundant and there signs of growth everywhere...which is a tell tale sign of pollution if it wasn't. You just have to be precautionary like any well system and honestly from city water nowadays and have a whole house carbon filtration system and RO for drinking water. As for Stuart West...amazing place....moved from Coral Springs (which has a dump 6 times as large) and will never move back. The neighbors are very welcoming and the community if very picturesque. The HOA is a little tougher than i expected and would change some things but it's fine for now. As for Cobblestone it is closer to I-95 but a sound wall has been approved to be built by the state starting soon. The homes are very nice just not much land and that's what we're looking for. The reasoning for the foreclosures I think was like everything else the values of these home skyrocketed back a few years ago and I'm sure those people bought with adj rate mortages and are now feeling the pain of a mortgage they can't afford. It's clearly evident. One more point with the landfill is that the reservoir flows east away from the community into the C23 and a large preserve.
