Moving to Vero Beach with kids (Sebastian, Gifford: best neighborhoods, neighborhoods, middle schools)

We are looking at moving to the Vero Beach area and have 2 middle school aged kids. What are the best neighborhoods east of A1A for kids? We want to be in that area to have easy access to the beach but don't want to be in a neighborhood with no other kids.
Also any input on the middle schools or high school would be appreciated also.

Hi here is all the info you need for schools. Vero beach and Sebastain are both good areas for kids. I live just on the outskirts in vero beach up by Sebastian and my eldest son is going to Sebastian River Middle School this august into 6th grade into the IB programme. From what I can gather it is a bit overcrowded but they do plan to build a new school new. We actually live 2 miles from there and 1 mile from the High School in Sebastian. if you need any further info please PM me...I dont know much about the vero beach ones although my friends daughter does go to Gifford Middle and her son is going this year and she has no complaints.

Gifford Middle School is a grade A

Oslo Middle School Home is a grade B

I've lived in Vero for the last 18 years on the island. Basically all of the island communities are gated with no public access to the beach; giving you a very safe family friendly area. There are several public access points north of the 17th st bridge but south of that for 7 miles is private. There are many family communities with kids everywhere; Castaway Cove, Atlantis, Moorings, Ocean Oaks, Oyster Bay etc etc. The public school system is very good. My daughter attended elementary, middle and high school in Vero. She did well enough to be admitted to Univ of Florida{very difficult to be accepted in} and graduate last year. There is also an exceptional private school on the island {St. Edwards} for all grade levels.
I suggest a vacation to the area if you havent been already. Good Luck!
