Wink Cost of utilities (electric) for apartment

Hello,

I am contemplating a move to the Treasure Coast area and have researched rental prices, which to a NYer seem good. I am curious to know about what to expect to pay for utilities in a 1 person household.

I am a mature woman and pretty conservative in my use of electricity, but I love my long showers and I do cook a lot.

Any comments are welcome. Thanks!

Depends on how well you tolerate the heat. In the winter months we turn off the a/c and open the windows. We are just now starting the a/c season and heading in to the hot summer.

I guess it would also depend on what you consider expensive and if you go to work and turn the a/c up to 80 when you leave and down when you come home.

Lots of variables to be able to give you an amount.

Hello FlaLadyB,

Thanks for your reply. I understand I'm asking a wide question. I am retired, so I am home more than most, but I doubt I would use the AC too much unless the humidity is off the charts. I love the heat and fresh air.

My concern was more about heating with electric and cooking with it.

Do you think I'd be looking closer to $100/mo or $300/mo?

Thanks again for your help

ok..thats easy then. I have 1680 under air. I doubt any apt will be that much. My highest a/c bill was $150 and since I work from home I don't turn it off or change the temp.

Thanks, this helps me alot.

I am guessing you are a realtor so would it be ok for me to contact you when I'm closer to being ready to make the change?

Again, thanks for your help.
