BTW, the news is reporting that St. Lucie County is considering declaring a state of emergency because of the economic conditions there. Over 10,000 homes in foreclosure and double digit unemployment.

Proposed State of Emergency for PSL:
The proposed State of Emergency (SOE) could promote some jobs for the locals.. If the commissioners vote for this position then the blue colar workers in construction would see a rise in employment. White colars would probably not see as much as the blue colars due to the type of jobs this proposed SOE could provide. One advantage of an SOE is to provide jobs for the locals but the trade is a small consideration of who really needs the benefit. Also, if the commissionsers vote "yes" to the SOE and their plan doesn't see success until their projects are completed it may be too late to adjust.. PSL could use more flexible plans that would benefit more than a few trades...

What if:
The projects could be allocated to someone who is less qualified by leaving it up to the commissioners and having just PSL companies bid on them.
This is just my opinion and of course my opinion is a "what if" scenario. Our officials need to ensure that PSL residents and taxpayers do not get the lesser of the few adjustments that are being considered as "necessary" to get over the hump in our economy. I love PSL and PSL residents really have no room for economic mistakes now or anytime in the future... The PSL commissioners proposed SOE must be 100% effective.. If not the officials must submit the full monetary payment to the City for their mistakes....

God Bless our Troops and Veterans.
