St Lucie or Martin County to live
I am moving to Florida.
I have an option of living in St Lucie County or Martin County
I have heard both bad and good about both.
Can you give advise on which county would be best.
Thanks everyone

And, I can tell you good and bad about both. As to which is best? That's going to depend entirely on what you want, and how much you're willing to pay for it. Martin County will absolutely cost you more money that St. Lucie County in terms of purchase costs and living expenses, although their tax rate is slightly lower. That's because their valuations are so high -- they don't have to have as high a millage rate.
In either county, there is a vast range of choices, from waterfront to gated communities to condos to trailer parks to single family houses to citrus groves to horse ranches to airparks, and everything in between.

We just moved up from Palm Beach County to PSL. Our family loves it here! The quality of life is much better in PSL. In regards as to Martin Co. or PSL, I agree with PSLOltimer....it depends on what you want. We moved close to the Martin Co line in the SW area where you are close enough to go to either PSL or Martin Co for a nice dinner. Most of the area in the SW is new construction and you will find people that have moved here from all over the US. Living here in PSL, my children are able to attend private school for the very first time. We are very happy about that. My spouse and I commute to work in PBC 4 or 5 days a week but we still find that it is worth it. Hopefully in the future PSL will have a lot better paying jobs so that at least one of us can stay here and work closer to the kids. The people here in PSL are very nice. I have to tell you that I have met some wonderful respectful people who have become great friends with us. Genuine people. Good luck in your decision!

Yes. I also made a lot of friends in PSL too. I lived in Los Angeles, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach Gardens before. Now I am at PSL. It is at PSL that I met a lot of wonderful respectful people. I would rate my experience at PSL is the best and my experience in Palm Beach Gardens was the worst.

Thank you very much,
We have been pondering this decision for some time.
I really like the area.
We seem to be able to get more for our money in PSL. Really we just want to be happy there.
I am flying in tomorrow to speak with all three of the local hospitals, as an experienced RN it seems as if the jobs are there to be had right now.
I will have to base my decisions on who can offer the best package but we are leaning on psl.
Others let me know your honest thoughts. I know taxes are crap, I will vote on tax reform next year for sure. Lets hope the insurance companies back off and dont try to empty the pockets like they have been.
I may see if my homeowners insurance company from North will cover there. Its worth a shot.
Wish us luck.
See you soon new neighbors
