They really try to be customer service oriented, which is nice to see since we're from the Northeast and used to NO customer service.
So, Hale's Market has more than meat...right?

Hale's is more than meats. Mostly fresh fruits and some vegetables.

There is a Winn Dixie on 12th, and also an Albertson's on Route 1 (if it's still there). I love Hale's and go there for lunch too, for their salad bar. Don't Forget Walmart and Sam's Club. Lots of choices. And there are so many Publix stores. I like the one on 12th St., very uncrowded.

Smile relocating to florida

Hello, I am considering moving to Florida, haven't settled on an area yet, though. Looking for a job in the Medical field, or customer service, will be renting. Any advice would be deeply appreciated. Kids are grown, so it will be just me. Moving from New York, soooo tired of living here, looking for moderate weather and a better standard of living. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Correction: The publix I referenced is on 4th SW. Sorry. @evverlin, what distinguishes Vero from other places is that it is relatively uncrowded and easy to get around. It has a small town feel, but has lots of amenities, big box stores, theater, arts, movie choices, etc. There's Indian River Medical Center and Sebastian Medical Center for hospitals and all the usual medical offices you can find any place for medical jobs. The most complaints I hear about Vero is there is not much night life (but there is some). There are lots of New Yorkers here. Weather is mostly good, although we just got record breaking rain in October. Last winter was chilly, we had to put the heat on in the house. Summer is hot, as you might expect. I am from NE, so this weather is heaven to me. Even when the weather is bad, you can usually find some sun every day.

We shop at Hales for our meat, seafood and bakery items. They have a chef that not only cooks all the hot foods from scratch, but the breads are all from scratch. Publix and Fresh Mkt have a bakery, but its all frozen.
I have to admit I think Publix and Hale's has the best customer service too.
