Hi,I could really use some help in choosing the right hospital and boarding facility. I'm considering a move back to the south Fl area, specifically anywhere between Stuart and Jupiter,Fl. I'm an RN and I know Jupiter Hospital and Martin Memorial Hospital are in these area's,but need some feedback on which would be the better place to work. also I"ll be in need of a reputable boarding facility for my 2 horses. My preference here is a smaller, maybe private facility, that follows the ways of natural horsemanship. I'm looking to spend $400-$450/horse,as I have been doing. Besides my job,my horses are my priority,so a clean, safe place is very important.
Looking forward to any advice on this matter. would like to get out of dodge soon!
Debbie

I kept my horse in palm city in an 8 stall private barn called leaning pine stables. The owner, sue durjan, is a caring person. It is not a training facility though, but has a large outdoor ring, and a round pen last time oi was there. No lessons or anything like that, though you can bring your trainer in for lessons, or go ride to a larger facility. The only other I know of offhand is rolling rock, if they are still there, they were a mostly dressage barn. Jupiter has more stables I believe, though is also higher end. Best to do what I did, come down for a weekend and investigate. Hospitals I have no opinion, I try to stay out of them.

Here is a great resource to get started on the horse thing, the ads are paid advertising, so you won't see everything in the area listed, but its a good place to start. The Barn Book

Here is Leaning Pine http://www.leaningpinestables.com/

Looks like Rolling Rock is for Sale.

Not sure of the specifics for individual stables, but Jupiter Farms started out as a horse community. Much of it is individual homes on large lots, but I'd do some searching around for small stables there.

Also, I have been to Martin Memorial a few times. Always had fantastic doctors, and the medical community here is really great. I'd say Martin Memorial over Jupiter any day. Jupiter Medical Center i always hear hit and miss things about.
