I know the schools are much better. We tried to get our 14 year old into PSL schools as we are staying on the island for now. They assigned him to Northport. I did a visit. No way. He has been in an a rated school system in the townships of Indiana. I cant do that to him. That was our reason to choose Martin County. People did not lie when they talked about the schools.
Do you think the value will hold. We are paying the price that I posted earlier for a 3/2/2 with a pool and on the canal on a cul da sac.
What are the downfalls to living there?
Are there a good ratio of kids for ours to meet?
Thanks

Martin County on the whole is very safe. I'm sure the Estuary is fine. The downfalls that I would see are pretty few-close to the mall, forced to travel on US1 (but who isn't) and a 20 minute drive just to get to the turnpike or I95.
The mall has a fair bit of problems.
It's a nice place to live. As far as kids, who did you see around the neighborhood? You should go knock on some doors and ask the neighbors before you put money down. Also, go back in the night and see what it's like there.
Martin County schools have traditionally been much better than St. Lucie, and I advise anyone who has a choice to stay in Martin County.
Values? Who knows. They aren't making anymore waterfront. It might dip iin the short term, but not by much, and it will surely appreciate over the long haul.
Insurance is quite expensive, and you should call the tax collector and find out what the taxes are.
