Default Stuart Area

My husband just got relocated to Jupiter, FL from the Orlando area. We've been looking at houses there, but I recently found a new home community called Highlands Reserve in Palm City, FL. It is zoned for Crystal Lake Elementary in Stuart.

Can anyone tell me about this area? What about this community?

(We are also looking in Jupiter Farms, Jensen Beach and Hobe sound)

Thanks for any information you may have.

Martin County has some of the best schools in the state. Palm City is nice but growing.

Highlands Reserve has some negatives in my opinion. It is right on the Turnpike and 95. Right there. You will always hear the noise from those highways. Always, and don't let anyone tell you differently. It is a constant drone in the background.

Also, Highlands Reserve has seen a fairly steep drop in price since things aren't selling. The prices on the signs out front have been revised over the year. I would not look in Highlands.

There are nice places in Palm City. It is an easy ride to Jupiter from there, the schools are good, crime is pretty low, and as in all of Martin County, there are no high rises because we have a height restriction.

I just think you could do a lot better than Highlands Reserve. There are lots of places for sale.

My Grandparents live in Martin Downs in Palm City and it is a beautiful community. The traffic is starting to get a bit annoying, especially when you cross over to Rt 1, and the grocery stores are ALWAYS packed.... Not sure why that is....

IMO , that area Stuart , Palm City , Jupiter is still a super nice area to live as crime is low , schools are good , people are still friendly , in fact I am told it is what the rest of South Florida was like twenty - twenty five years ago .

You also have some very nice up scale communities , good shopping , etc , etc .

Funny you mention that.... My Grandparents moved FROM Coral Gables (Miami) about 20 years ago because of what S. Florida was becoming.... Yes, it is a nice area, especially if you can afford to live in the nicer developments....

Thanks for any information you may have.
You may also want to consider a home in one of the Palm city elementary school districts. There are two in Palm City.

25 years ago it was pretty nice. Now south Florida has moved in and it is nowhere near as quiet.

Thanks for the information.

What areas do you recommend us looking at? Jensen Beach? Palm City, Stuart? Any areas that we should stay away from? We have children in Elementary School, so we really want to be near the best schools.

It is definately creeping northward.... One need only look at what happened to poor Hutchinson Island over the course of the last 20 years......

Quiet little island to an overdeveloped and crowded "resort"...

Palm City is definitely the best. Jensen second, Stuart third. Palm City is the most upscale of the neighborhoods, with the exception of Sewalls Point, which sends their kids to Stuart.
