Default We made it- now residents of PSL!

Hey y'all- we made it! Took possession of the keys on Sunday. It's been an experience, but all of our stuff was finally delivered yesterday. We got most of it unpacked and put up, so today is going to be a slow day. Kids started school in Tuesday.

Just wanted to say hey and announce my arrival! Hope y'all have a great Easter weekend!!

Congratulations ! Oh how I envy you, moving to Florida. Hope you settle in easily and enjoy the beautiful new surroundings. I hope we are living on the Treasure Coast by this time next year, if not sooner...

So we've been here a week now, and I must comment on something. My wife and I have moved 8 times in our life together, and the community I live in now has been the most welcoming out of all of them. Our neighbors across the street have been over already for a play date, and we've had 3 other neighbors bring over some kind of welcome gift and introduce themselves. I am just amazed at how acccepted we feel and how nice the people around here are! It's wonderful.

We've been to Jensen and Bathtub beaches. I'm not too fond about Jensen, but love Bathtub. I just wish they had a bathroom at Bathtub! My wife had to drive down to the next beach to go.

We enrolled the kids in school on Monday, and they started on Tuesday. We wanted them to get back ASAP due to my oldest having to take the FCAT's next week. I was very disappointed with the PSL school system's process of enrolling students. Instead of your children going to the school closest to you, the admin office assigns your kids a school in your district. Basically, it's similar to the way the southern schools integrated back in the day. I hate it. My kids are in a ghetto school because the good ones are full. They are on a waiting list for the one we preferred, but no guarantees that they will ever get there. Very disheartening to say the least.

We also took advantage of the Easter festivities put on by FBC of Stuart at Flagler Park on Saturday. We all really enjoyed it and the kids loved the different activities. This morning we drove out to Sunrise services offered by Jensen Beach Baptist. We enjoyed that as well.

Overall, it has been an extremely busy but productive week. The wife starts her first day at work tomorrow. I really hope she enjoys it. My Mother is flying in on Saturday and will venture out some more while she is here. Hope y'all have a great week!!
