srsx9.. this isn't a thread about PSL vs whatever city, USA. It's also not a thread designed to convince people to move to Port St. Lucie. The topic is very clearly stated on the title. Your agenda against people in the Real Estate Profession is sparing because this thread is about DEVELOPMENT. Stick to the topic or start your own thread, but while on this thread stick to development. As for the rest of you stop allowing yourselves to be baited by his off topic statements because you're essentially doing the same thing he is.

Actually, the reason I left was due to lack of urban development of the type that has been promised for decades. The lack of infrastructure was the major problem and so is the lack of well paying jobs in the area. Urban development to a large degree centers around the local economy which cannot be driven mostly by retirees. It means commuting far away not only for decent shopping, food, and entertainment, but also for work for a large % of the population.
Tradition medical center and the city will be discussing plans for a possible expansion by next month. PSL also announced today the firm that will be designing and building the crosstown bridge. Same firm that built the veterans memorial bridge.
I guess Port St Lucie is really that bad, then why was the city named the best place to live in FL and also why did Forbes magazine name Port St Lucie one of the top 200 places in the country for business and career.
What's going in at the closed First Peoples Bank location on Gatlin Blvd next to the BP gas station? The building is currently being demolished with silt barriers around the entire property.

Tradition Village Pointe update:
Starbucks has decided not to build out there after all. Kite Properties has raised their rates and Starbucks has pulled out. I have also heard that other restaurants have pulled out too like Chipotle and Jersey Mike Subs. Wawa is on hold right now. I don't expect too much business development in Tradition for year or so... Hopefully Kite lowers their rates and maybe we can get more businesses out there...
Interesting the comment about Village Point because clearly Tradition is being bypassed continually for new business construction in favor of St Lucie West. Chipotle, Starbucks and Paneras all built first in St. Lucie West. Right now the Publix shopping center on SLW Blvd. is currently adding 5 new restaurants plus a Homegoods store. Add in over the past few years the Burlington Coat Factory, Aldi, Carrabas and the entire Town Center shopping center and something is clearly effecting new construction both residential and commercial in Tradition.
