Question Looking for inexpensive outdoor wedding venue

I am in search of an inexpensive outdoor wedding venue.

We have thought about just going to the beach. Do I need to have a permit?
This is the second marriage for us so we don't need to do the fancy wedding thing. Been there, done that.

Any suggestions for an inexpensive wedding would be appreciated!

Dont know about needing a permit but I was at the beach this past weekend and there was a wedding in front of Shuckers ...just as an FYI the beach is public and so you will have everyone on the beach at your wedding. There were peoples towels right next to the wedding party ...I felt it lacked the kind of privacy that I would want...oh and also it was blazing hot ..one of the grandmothers had to be carried off the beach ...they had no tents or umbrellas

Whether a permit is needed or not for a wedding on the beach in the state of Florida depends on the individual municipality where the beach is. Some cities do, some don't. St. Lucie County beaches do NOT require a permit for a wedding on the beach, provided you don't build any structures, disrupt the nesting turtles, use only beach chairs, etc.. Of course, you can't make people leave the beach, as it is a public place. Also there are pavilions for rent on the beaches and other outdoor locations, if you need to accommodate many guests for half a day or a full day. But if you're just talking about a small ceremony with just an officiate and a couple witnesses, I think it's a simple and easy (and sensible) option. Plus the photos will be beautiful. Other free options would be at the many parks around.

Hope you settle on a place that has meaning for you. Congratulations!

City Hall ought to be cheap LOL. Try contacting Tradition and make a deal with them. I am sure they would negotiate with you.

Yes, we realized we would have everyone at the beach at the wedding. But we are planning on the end of February so it's not as busy or hot.

I've only lived here for a year and still don't all the place around. Which beaches have pavilions that can be rented?

I watched a wedding on the beach this past year. There are SO many places where there are not many people.

Sunset.. windy...sandy....they had put up a little "stuck in the sand" sticks with some ribbons tied on them.

I see SO many weddings at the outdoor gazebo in Tradition that overlooks the lake and fountains. I always stop and watch.

Why not in one of the State Parks? White City Park off Midway is really pretty with the water and hanging moss...and it has tables available if you want to make a picnic type of day of it. I took a lot of really great photos there.

A wedding on the beach can be beautiful if it's just right, but if it's scorching hot, windy, or a perfect beach day you can deal with all kinds of issues you may not have considered. A wedding in a park or even on a beach with a gazebo or other structure might be your best bet and a lower risk. The simpler, the better I say!

My wife and I were married in St Croix...went down single came back married...we did not tell anyone...just went on vacation...the whole package was arraigned by the hotel and cost less than $1,000...

The last time we were in Florida...Juno Beach...Marriott...there was a wedding that took place at sunset on the beach...the setting was perfect and I am sure the photos were even better...when talking to the staff they told us that all the beach hotels offer a wedding packages...so I would try Googling wedding packages in the area you are interested in...you might find something you like...my thoughts...pick a place you want to vacation to...research the wedding packages...and comeback married...no fuss...no pressure...no Bull****....I was wearing shorts and my wife a sun dress...talk about easy....
