A while ago I started a thread about fishing in the area and did not catch too many responses so I thought to try again. With the abundance of canals and lakes I was wondering if anyone has had success fishing these. As the regular forum members know I will be there soon and thought while I was taking a break from packing to find out if there are any area fisherman. I wanted to cast about to see if I can get any information so I can start fishing informed. Most areas require some know how and I am hoping a fisherman will bite and tell me either not to waste my time in the lakes and canals or that they have possibilities. I am a fly fisherman and tie my own flies and the canals look tempting.

Saw 3 of those Sandhill Cranes hanging out behind a small shopping center somewhere on US1. They started walking towards my car in slow motion.

Here's a picture I took of them http://i.imgur.com/xpjSE.jpg

I took a beautiful picture of four of them walking in a row with my cell phone. The picture came out so well that I sent it to Wolfe Camera on line and had it blown up to poster size. When I got it back it looked like a beautiful painting so I had it put on poster board at Michaels and then I built a frame and hung it in my livingroom. It is amazing how good cell phone cameras are these days.

You should join the Port St. Lucie Anglers Club. They are a friendly bunch of people, very down to earth. They have monthly meetings and various get togethers.
