Port St. Lucie is the 9th largest city in the 4th largest state in the union, yet nowhere can I find a selection of quality extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Publix doesn't have what I'm looking for, although in some Publix locations I have found a 34 oz. bottle of Colavita, but for $20, and Colavita is not worth that much to me. There's what sounds like a wonderful store in West Palm Beach which sells quite a variety, but that's a long drive and a lot of gas to add to the cost of what is bound to be very pricey product.

Same problem with balsamic vinegar—no choice of purchasing decently aged product at Publix, but nowhere else to go.

As for garlic, I have lived here for many years and have yet to buy garlic without a stem growing in it which needed to be cut out, and things are only getting worse since China seems to have taken over the garlic market worldwide. My produce store carries what is supposed to be California garlic, but it also is old.

Sure would be glad to get some proven suggestions as to where I might go—perhaps in Stuart?

Publix has a brand Waldon Farms that is sugar free but tastes so great. I use it to marinate chicken.

Yes, I got what I wanted at Fresh Market, plus I picked up a couple of heirloom tomatoes while I was there. Thanks for the reminder. The last time I was down there it wasn't Stuart Fine Foods but is wasn't Fresh Market either.
