I've been in PSL for 2 months or so and have yet to see any Alligators.... I even went walking through that savannas preserve state park and saw nothing...... I'll be going on one of those little river cruise tours soon though I think.. so maybe I'll see them there.

I'm in Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra for 6 weeks, been here for 2 weeks and I see one every day on my walk. Maybe it's the same one, maybe not, but it's usually basking itself on the banks.

Go out to Tradition and take Village Parkway south. There is one that lives around there and is basking in the sun maybe 20 ft off the road. That is the only one I have seen in FL, other than the one at WPB Zoo.

I have seen a few in the Lakes around East Lake Village in PSL , they removed them last year when they got to big, I have also seen a couple in the St Lucie River . My wife has kayaked the Lost River in Stuart and she says there LOTS of gators there as well....

Default gators

I see one every day - about 4 foot long - at Oak Hammock Park by the buzzard roost.

Normally this time of year you don't see that many because it's cold. When the weather warms up or if it gets really dry then look out.

psl- I think you have it backwards. I see them when it is cooler because they like to come out of the water and warm from the sun. When it is really hot, they like to go to deeper waters and stay cooler.

If it gets dry they search for more water, during rainy season they travel as in mating season whenever that is. I for one would prefer NOT to see an alligator, saw a baby in our canal last year, and some jerks dumped two dead bodies with nothing but the tail meat taken, into the canal and they rotted for a few days next to our property before floating on down.

Watch out for your pets.

Nope gators are slower in the winter months. They are cold blooded animals. Believe me the gator is more afraid of you than you are of them. If you feed them they get used to it and problems occur when you stop feeding them.
