Is there a "downtown" neighborhood area where you could live and walk to downtown? If so are there particular streets or areas I should look in?

We would love to be able to live somewhere where we could walk to an ice cream shop or a bar or restaurant and walk home. Any other ideas of neighborhoods where that could happen in or near Stuart?

Speaking of walking....are there walking paths, trails etc in or near Stuart? What about bike paths?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, Stuart has a downtown! Check it out:

Downtown Stuart - Stuart Florida

Many places to shop, and (more importantly) 2 ice cream shops. Kilwin's is downtown, and my favorite place!

Sidewalks are all over Martin county...you'll run out of desire to walk before you run out of sidewalk!

Kilwins is excellent and Hoffmans across the street is wonderful as well! Hubby and I love walking around downtown Stuart. Quaint, clean, charming...

St. Lucie Estates is the most beautiful neighborhood in Stuart, IMO and quite close to downtown. Its got a lot of old Florida charm that is quickly being eroded by McMansions. Its sad, giant eyesores squeezed onto tiny lots. It's mostly pretty though, lots of nice landscaping and mature plants.

Stuart is a wonderful community, but a bit on the pricey side.
