We are getting everything in order to make the trip from PA to become permanent residents in Tradition! We have started looking into car insurance since we currently have Erie and they will not cover us in Florida. The agent we used for our homeowners gave me two quotes, one from Travelers and one from Safeco with Travelers being $300 more. Does anyone have any input on these companies and or suggestions for others to look into? Also, if you know a reputable insurance broker in the PSL area please message me, I would be interested in that as well. Thanks!

John is ex military, I guess we should quote that as well. We have been with the same company for over 30 years so it will be an adjustment to move to a new one and establish ourselves. Thanks!

I use 21st Century (Farmers)...they accept credit card/AMEX as payment so that is a huge plus to me

We use AAA (yes, the Automobile Club AAA) Insurance for both home and the car. They also accept a credit card for payment.

good to see that USAA insure's in the area, this is who we currently have in Ohio so hopefully it will make the transition easier when we get to Florida in a few months. We have had Great service with USAA so I would highly recommend checking them out if you are or have been in the military. Your children & grandchildren (even if they are not in the service) can also use USAA based on your service.

Regarding USAA insurance, you can't get their insurance simply because you had a parent in the military. The parent had to have had that insurance themselves for you to "inherit" it. Otherwise you are not qualified. That is what they told me when I checked on it, since my dad served in World War II but did NOT have USAA insurance.

I've had luck with 21st Century as well. Can't say you'll run the same luck but I saved a few hundred bucks switching from Nationwide this last policy period. Also, from previous experience I've placed a claim in with 21st Century and they weren't bad to deal with.
