Please Google Compost USA in Port St Lucie.
They are going to build a Compost Plant off Glades Cut Off Rd on land owned
by the Becker family on Shinn Road.
This facility will receive what is called raw sewerage "cakes" and recycle them.
There will be 90 trucks in and out each day.
The facility has already received preliminary approval from the City Council.
This facility is just four miles by way the crow flies from Tradition and within two miles
from PGA Village.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING AT THE FT PIERCE CITY COUNCIL FACILITY ON VIRGINIA AVENUE
MAY 5 AT 6PM.

PLEASE COME AND LISTEN TO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS FACILITY AND VOICE YOUR
PROTEST WITH A LETTER IN HAND AGAINST THE APPLICATION. YOUR PROPERTY VALUES ARE AT STAKE.

YOU CAN READ THE ENTIRE APPLICATION ON LINE.

THE CITY OF OCALA IS ALREADY IN SUITE AGAINST COMPOST USA AND WANT THE ONE IN THEIR TOWN CLOSED DUE TO THE STENCH GENERATED BY THESE TYPE FACILITIES.

THIS IS A SERIOUS SITUATION FOLKS.

Is this going to cause a smell like a pig farm or something? If it has the approval of the environmental community then what is the objection? After all it is 2 miles from the nearest development. Does it bring jobs to the local economy?

LISTEN AND WATCH

Port St. Lucie residents fight compost facility - WPEC-TV CBS12 News :: News - Top Stories

MAY 5
Repost of Public Hearing On Compost USA Facility (to be built off of Midway)

Tue, May 5, 6:00 PM
2300 Virginia Ave, 3rd FL, Roger Poitras Bldg, Ft Pierce, Board of Commissioners
Compost USA wants to build a facility off of Midway. After 3 1/2 years of legal battle, they were ordered, in 2013, to shut down their operations by the end of September 2014 in Ocala, FL. For the length of time it took to litigate, residents had to put up with unpleasant odors caused by sludge processed at the 38 acre site. With a track record like this, do we really want the Commissioners to approve the permit for Compost USA to proceed just a few miles from PGA Village?

If you are concerned about potential smells in your backyard, potential bio-aerosols leaking into our environment, along with the devaluation of your homes, I urge you to try and attend this meeting. If you are unable to do so, you may write to one or all of the Commissioners voicing your concerns. The web address is:
www.stlucieco.gov/bocc/index.htm

At the home screen, you will send the following names on the left:

Chris Dzadovsky
Tod Mowery
Paula A. Lewis
Frannie Hutchinson
Kim Johnson

No but I mean the idea of composting is not bad itself but I guess the problem is on an industrial level.
