the Big Taste of Martin County, is April 12. TOMORROW ! TUESDAY!

The event is celebrating its 20th anniversary and the lineup is full of talented chefs. This special event supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

It's a great way to taste signature dishes and menu items from local restaurants all in one place.

There are several newcomers to the event this year, including the winner of the Chopped! 2016 competition at The Arts Council of Martin County's ArtsFest, Ron Kerr, owner of Bite Catering. I am looking forward to tasting his latest culinary creations.

Another new competitor is Anthony Polito, owner of Polito Catering, who also competed in the Chopped! 2016 event. He will be featuring his special appetizer chicken and waffle skewers, and for the entrée category, he will be making an Italian version of shrimp and grits. He said rustic southern cuisine is a popular theme for weddings this year and these recipes are sought-after choices in his catering business.

Chef Brian Slimm from Sneaki Tiki, a new restaurant in Stuart, will be preparing his signature Cajun chicken pasta in the entrée category and his Key Lime pie with a Caribbean twist for dessert.

Chef Mark Muller from Ellie's Deli, who is no stranger to these local culinary competitions, will bring his A game when he showcases his lobster bisque, which will be one of my first stops of the night. He is following up that with his coconut curry noodle bowl, in the entrée category.

Chef Adam Fatigate from Chef's Table is back again this year and will be compete in two categories. He is creating a soup of roasted tomato and basil foam along with his peachy roasted corn salad, according to sous chef Jose Peralta.

Cabo Flats confirmed it would be defending the spot for Best Drink with its El Cabo Margarita and also is entering its original AvaCabo Fries as an appetizer.

Dinalla's, a new Italian restaurant on U.S. 1 in Stuart, will be competing for the first time along with Stuart Fish and Pig and Tiger's Den Restaurant & Catering.

These events give the chefs a wonderful place to showcase their delicious cuisine and foodies can come together for a fun evening.

I hope to see you there!

Just wanted to say that the kayaking at the Savannas is pretty cool. I've always had a gone time when I've gone. Good exercise and it's nice to see the Savannas from a kayak.
