Saturday, May 11th, your mail carrier is going to be super busy. The 27th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive happens all across the United States delivering cards to remind you to place food out and the bags to place them in. In addition to delivering your regular letters and mail, USPS letter carriers will be collecting bags of non-perishable foods donated by citizens across the country in America’s largest one-day food drive
The plan is super simple, and the whole family can get involved and help. On Saturday, May 11th, place a bag (or bags) of non-perishable foods in or by your mailbox. That’s it. Really. Your letter carrier will do the rest of the work, picking up your donation. It will then be delivered to local food pantries right here in St. Lucie County. It’s so simple, you might even say, “It’s all in the bag.” And everyone can get involved, from the tallest to the smallest in the family; everyone can help fill a bag of non-perishable foods to share with others.

Kyokushin Karate was founded by Mas Oyama. Oyama traveled from his native Korea, to China and finally to his adopted country of Japan, Studying Martial Arts.What is Kyokushin karate? To some, it is a way to develop and maintain physical strength and learn effective self-defense techniques. To others, it is much more than that. Kyokushin karate is a way of life that transcends the physical aspects of training. The philosophy of Budo is evident in the name that Mas Oyama chose for his karate style, Kyokushin which means "Ultimate Truth". this unique event will bring in around 200 participants from around the country. The Seventh Annual Treasure Coast Lionfish Safari is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park at 600 N. Indian River Drive in Fort Pierce. The festival part includes live music, children’s activities, art, vendors, a full bar, food and lionfish tastings. Bring lawn chairs. Plus, Sailfish Brewing Company is releasing its annual Lionfish Pale Ale treated with jalapeno, lime and cilantro. The fourth annual Sailfish Beer Mile throughout downtown Fort Pierce starts at 7 p.m. Friday at Sailfish Brewing Company at 130 N. Second St. The 1-mile race features craft beer (or root beer) stops every quarter-mile and water at the end of the race. Runners are sent in waves every 20 minutes.
