What do you want to know? Indiantown is unincorporated. They are talking about two major subdivisions going in there, with lots of homes. I'd guess that would be on hold right now, but eventually that will happen.
Indiantown is agricultural. A lot of migrants. Not much in the way of downtown shopping, but it is pretty close to Stuart.
I like Indiantown. It's rural, and friendly. No hospital, if that concerns you.

It's not right on the lake. Access is pretty easy, actually. Beeline from WPB or SR 76 from Stuart. The nearest access to the interstate is in Stuart.

just seems very far once you get off I95 or the Turnpike to get to. Almost as bad as the acreage.

For many, the seeming isolation is the drawing attraction........
I'm an Ocala native - was pushed out of there by the huge influx of immigrants - went to Iowa for respite, spent 15 years there but never could cotton to those winters. Came back to Florida and settled as well as I could in the Daytona area for four years, found it to be like a three ring circus, but someone had taken away the rings and the animals were all out and running loose.
Am moving to a grove outside Indiantown presently and am glad for the opportunity to live again in a rural setting, this time sans snow and ice. What a Godsend!
I'm sure it's not for everybody - and that is what will keep it what it is - for better or worse, give me the country!
Blessings all,
Jim

Indiantown is rural and peaceful - but not for everyone. No Walmart or big chain grocery store. It is about a 45 minute drive to anywhere. The upside is, if you are a horse person, Indiantown is home to Dupruis nature perserve, over 60,000 acres of riding trails. I rider's heaven on earth; a large camping area with barns and a bathhouse. I don't think I could live in Idiantown (have friends that do), but my horse and I sure love to visit.
Don't know if this is allowed in the BB, but there is a fabulous italian restuarant tucked away in the only stip mall in town - DeeStephanos - the place is fabulous!! Everything is homemade, all the bread, everything. A true gourmet experience in Indiantown of all places. If you drive by and see horse trailers parked out front, my friends and I are in there!

Thanks for posting this! My parents are into horses and have talked about moving from STL to the Treasure Coast area for over 10 years. Just when the idea seemed to fizzle...I saw your post. Hopefully Dupruis will spark new interest in their relocation...I could follow them down some day!

I cannot say enough good things about Dupuis!!! The original land (about 20,000 (+) acres was owned and ranched by the Dupuis family. They donated the land which is now operated my South Florida Water Management. Over the years, SFWM got the rights to adjacent acreage that now makes up the 60,000 acre (+) perserve. Most of the trails were put in courtesy of the South Florida Trail Riders Association. There are 3 usable barns in the camping area and about 6 large paddocks. There are no camping hookups, but RV's and tents co-exist and have a great time. From Oct - May, there is a park attendent in residence. If you are a horse enthusiast, it is truly heaven on earth. The park is about 1 hour 15 minutes from me pulling a horse trailer and I get there VERY regularly. Tell your parents to come on down!!! My friends and I
will show them the trails!
