Default PSL house not meant to be?

Hi everyone,

We've been waiting since June to close on a short sale in PSL. We received an email last Thurs. assuring us that the end was very near. Now I'm seeing all the flooding in PSL on tv and thinking that the house may be flood damaged. We haven't talked to the agent but have sent an email. We're waiting for a reply.

I'm hoping all of you are safe, sound and dry.

What area are you buying in? I'm in the PSL/Becker area and haven't seen any problems around here. You can go on the City of PSL website and they will tell you the areas that are having problems with flooding. My brother is looking into a short -sale deal and I advised him against it UNLESS he has the time to wait it out.I have a friend that is selling her home short-sale and it appears the average wait time is approx. 6 months.Maybe somebody that has actually bought/sold can post and tell us what the actual time frame is.I'd be interested to hear.

Jules, thankfully we are not in a rush, but my main worry is the condition of the house. I'll go to the website you listed and check it out. Thanks!

I think it really just depends on the property itself. I recently bought short sale.... was done in a month. "Record time" the realtor said, AND the bank agreed to make repairs, which was also unheard of, apparently.

TriMT you got lucky!

I just heard that they are ready to close on our as soon as they can get the occupant to move out. That could take some time, right?

Sally,
Someone named BIG was kind enough to give me instructions on "how to edit" after I left a message similar to yours, so I am passing on a little kindness

"If you pull up your recent post (I think you have about 90 minutes to edit it), You will see an edit button right next to the quote button on the bottom of the message. Click on that and edit away!"

Try it............don't forget to click save when done.

The occupant owner, or the renter?

I think rental occupants always have until the end of their lease to get out, though I could be wrong.

But yeah, I was very lucky. Some friends of mine down here put in a short sale offer on a house three weeks ago and are still waiting to hear from the bank. I think part of the reason why I got a fast response is that I actually offered the asking price for the short sale.
