why?

Is it unreasonable to think that if you're a realtor you would know why there are so many foreclosures. Gee have you been under a rock for the last year. Foreclosures aren't limited to this area. Some of the most expensive RE in the area is full of foreclosures and yes, even empty homes. You really should know what you're talking about before posting false stuff. I just got off the phone with Portofino Court on Brigantine and they're full. Can't speak for Newport Isles further south but as for Court, your information is wrong.

Besides the point that I was speaking of Newport Isles...
I guess asking a question in the form of a statment doesn't get through to you. If someone offers you two places for a low price but one is huge in size and the rest of the places in the area are average, wouldn't it make you wonder why the huge place was being offered at such a low price? Wouldn't it make you check in to the neighborhood and why all the prices in a particular neighborhood are much lower than anything else around it? Wouldn't that (hopefully) raise some kind of red flag for you to ask why? Or possibly ....you don't care, you just like the bigger house for the lowest price and don't care about your kids or the neighborhood and what goes on around you.

I always find it AMAZING that when given experienced data ....people will STILL argue that a "particular place" is "fine" when advising people from far away (or nearby for that matter).
That happened to me on the FLL forum when moving from Phila. WHY would I even CONSIDER moving to a place that's "not that bad". LOLOLOL ....
i.e. " Well, two blocks away is ghetto but it's not that bad" was the typical response.
A bunch of 20 somethings with no life experience apparently.
PEOPLE IF A REALTOR TELLS YOU A PLACE HAS ANY SORT OF PROBLEMS, MOVE ON.

OK, but respectfully, remember that Newport Isles is being developed by a publically traded company. These companies MUST show activity and income on their books even if they are giving it away.

Is anyone familiar with Portofino in Jensen Beach? I visited someone there a few years ago and was wondering if it had changed much. Considering buying a condo in Jensen, any opinions, suggestions would be appreciated. Oh and I'm also looking at Beacon 21, I can't seem to fiind a number for their association. Not sure what to expect to pay in association fees, also would homeowners insurance be a bit less for a condo, as opposed to a single family home?? Thanks!

I'd like to follow up on these earlier posts. I walked away from a beautiful 3 bedroom condo in Jensen Beach because of the negative comments, but I hope I didn't make a mistake. Although they're opinions, I have to trust what a professional real estate agent tells me.
On the other hand, a real estate agent just told me not to even bother looking in Tradition, and there are many positive posts on City-Data about that community, so I guess we all need to decide for ourselves.
Anyway, to stick to the topic, has anyone moved into Newport Isles since these comments were posted? Any additional comments?

Whoever told you NOT to look at Tradition is nuts since its one of the safest places to live in the entire area. We do background checks to help make SURE we don't have undesirable people living here. AND that is NOT just because I live here.. it's the truth.. ask the police. Look up the sexual offenders and see.
Jensen is not safe for children - check out the police files for sexual offenders for that area and SEE for yourself where they all congregate and live. You'd be surprised how many there are there.. I was.
ANY time you look and find an area that has large homes that the prices are WAY below anything around them in the area.. you have to stop and say... WHY IS THAT? RED FLAG!!!
oh.... and I'd like to ask... why... did they tell you not to look in Tradition?

I know you live in Tradition because of your posts & profile, but it wasn't anything personal. I was only saying that everyone has his or her own opinion.
I never said someone told me Tradition is unsafe. She said I would hate it because it's a community that was designed for young families. I'm still having a lot of trouble walking, but I might take a drive there to look around.
I was also wondering about Sawgrass Lakes. Again, everyone has an opinion. That's why I was asking.

Tradition has a lot of different ages Nancy, as I had mentioned to you long ago. It's not all young families. It's great for families, singles, and any other age. If you, or anyone else, take a look at the photos of Tradition on my profile you will see all ages shapes and sizes of people from all over.

I live in newport isles for the last 3 month and moved in after doing alot of asking and driving into the community prior to buying in here......Its a very friendly family community Yes there a lot of foreclosures because of the the investors that purchased trying to flip them and making a mint after the homes where finished unfortunately for them the market turned which only gave them one option rent to anyone....As the homes are being forclosed on these renters are having to move..Giving legit home buyers an opportunity to buy a great house for very reasonable price.. there are 764 homes in this community and crap will happen..But as good families move in that take pride in ownership this community can only get better...very happy in newport isles ....Moderator cut: You may NOT discuss a MEMBER.so be it but coming from a home owner in newport isles I feel safe and am enjoying my house and community thanks for reading my post......
