Default Portofino Isles and Portifino Court rentals

Anyone have any thoughts on this community? Is it a safe, nice place to live? Any info at the specific community or surrounding area is appreciated. Thanks

Let me re-phrase - there are 2 Portofinos- one is an apartment complex over off US#1 that tried to do a condo conversion and didn't quite make it. Which one are you speaking of? The one off US#1 in Jensen or the Portofino off Gatlin?

Not sure where FlaLadyB is getting her information but as far as an incomplete community is concerned Portifino on US1 is a complex of once rentals that have been converted...A 67k price tag for a 1brm, 1bth was noted in the PSL local newspaper this past Sunday...

The price will dictate the flow of condos in the area and PSL is really nice but houses are just not selling...In view of that the 67k price tag is the asking price because the selling price will probably be much lower....Imagine a condo in Florida for a small price of $60k? Conversions of a 1/1 were originally well over $100k when they were first listed... Unbelieveable.....And the condo is a short ride of 10 minutes to the St Lucie Intercoastal and ocean...

Saint Lucie is much safer than West Palm Beach....Check out the web site on PSL and West Palm Beach....

AS I SAID in the other post - there are 2 Portofinos. One off Gatlin and one off US#1. In a different post by someone else about the Portofino off US#1 he said he was seeing a lot of crime coming out of there AND a lot of foreclosures.

The uncompleted Protofino is the one off Gatlin. My information about the one off Gatlin is because I AM a Realtor, have been there, and I LIVE a mile away.

To check out if either of them are safe (which in my opinion they are not) call the local police department or look up the address of some of the apartments on the psl
property appraisers site and see if they are in foreclosure, which many are.

I am being honest..nothing else. I am also looking to keep a family safe that does not live here and can not see with their own eyes.

Default Nice, Safe Community

Portofino Court is a very nice, community and seems safe. Though it isn't completed yet, many of the homes have nice options and upgrades that a lot of communities don't have. Tiles, cabinetry, granite, etc. They also have a nice clubhouse and pool. The pricing is good for rentals and they have rent to own type programs. They are pretty big, but you don't have to worry about maintaining a yard, etc. As for Portofino Isles ( behind/past Portofino Court), It is actually Newport Isles ( it is a Lennar community) I hear it is nice and has a variety of types of homes in there. I am not sure if they are for lease. Overall, you are close to I-95 and the Turnpike and is an easy commute. I think it's pretty good.

I can't find a direct link for Newport Isles, but if you search
Lennar.com I am sure you can find it.

If you drive through the Portofino anything over by Newport Isles ask yourself why are most of them empty and so many on the market. Ask yourself how desolate it seems and would you realllly feel safe there. As for Newport Isles ask yourself why that one specific community would be the only community around with large homes going for really really really low prices compared to any other community in the whole area. Doesn't that make you wonder .....
why?

I have been wondering ........ WHY? ,ost of the homes seem to be forclosures/short sales.... and I read in the tcpalm that people were complaining that the empty homes are not being taken care of.

I asked a realtor and he said he would not reccomend that area....

I have not been to Newport Isles in a long while, but last I remember it was pretty nice. There maybe a lot of foreclosures, but I can't speak on that because it has been so long since I was in there. As for Portofino Court, even though it is not a completed community, it is full with residents that own & lease. I wouldn't say there were a lot of empty homes, maybe 1 or 2 left to be sold or leased. I know someone who lives there and they love their townhome they've leased. The upside is that you get a Brand New townhomes possibly with many upgrades, you don't have to mow a lawn and the price is reasonable. I guess this is just a matter of opinion and what someone is looking for.
