Can anyone tell me about Stuart Communities?
We are a family with four children under 10. We are looking into communities in Stuart for home rentals.
So far, Lost River community keeps popping up during my computer search. It appears to be very nice, not sure if they have rec facilities for kids or even a pool. Is it an older communities or are there younger families there.
Can anyone tell me about some of the area communities and which one would be better for families with children?
We are looking for a 4-5 bedroom on the water with community rec facilities including a pool for the kids.
Any information will be greatly appreciated!!!!

A 4-5 bedroom rental on the water, and recreational facilities, will be hard to find. How much are you willing to spend. If you are looking in the actual city of Stuart, it will be very tough.

Up to 3,000/mo. My husband will be working on the east side of Port Saint Lucie and we have been researching the nearby areas. I have heard so many mixed opinions on Port St Lucie, I haven't been setting my focus on there. I have been researching the Martin County area.
I can live anywhere especially if it is near the water. My concern is the children. I wouldn't want to move into an area and then realize that there are mostly older couples and no kids to play with. I wouldn't be fair to them or us. I like the communities with pools because it is the perfect set up for my kids to find friends or even just play for the day. My kids enjoy being on the water but it is not limited to a lagoon. A lake is fine by them.
My husband would be working SE Hillmoor Dr (local hospital) so any information within a decent driving radius (up to 20-40min) would be great. I am sure there are areas I am not even looking at yet.
Thank you so much for responding to me. I appreciate your time and your help!

When you say "near or on the water", I am thinking ocean access. But your comment about a lake or lagoon makes me wonder if your reference to water means a view of a lake.
If your looking for a lake/lagoon (view only usually) home with community facilities, a high proportion of families w/children, good public schools and easy access to I95, try Palm City.
If you want a home on the river (which can turn tannic brown due to run-off), I can't think of any with a community pool. Most homeowner on the water would rather have their own pool.

When I say "near or on the water" I meant a lake but open water would be fine, just my second choice. My husband would love to have ocean access but we have for young children and I am looking just for a fishing lake.
You are not the first person that told me to look into Palm City. A realtor told me yesterday that we should focus on there because there are a lot of nice communities to choose from. I think I am going to switch my focus there. I have, however, found a gated community in Stuart on a lake. It is Cove Isle. I am trying to research it but have come up with little information so far.
Do you know of any communities within Palm City that are nice for larger families? I haven't found much on realtor.com.
Thank you for responding to me. I have been researching this for so long I am getting confused! We are going to go to Stuart on Friday for a few days to look around. I am hoping to a lot of home/neighborhood leads so we can take a look.
Thank you !

The only way you will ever find what you want is to go there and look around. Finding large homes with community pools is unlikely-most have their own pools.

We bought in St lucie some good news for home buyers just out
Port St Lucie to Invest $22 Million
Port St Lucie is about to invest $22 million to attract high profile companies to the city.
This is the largest investment fund held in Florida. The whole idea focuses in building a huge jobs creation corridor at Tradition where Torrey Pines opened it 100,000 square foot lab earlier this year. Now VTGI Florida is breaking ground in the same area this year on its new lab.
This is only the start. Tradition is one of the largest new development areas in Florida with a lot of other interested companies looking to invest in the area.
We will keep you posted on this story as it happens. This only adds to the fact that buying an investment property in Port St Lucie at current prices is a very good idea.I bought my house through this guy here I read his web site updates all the time , he has some good information on the area. www.kenduncanrealtor.com

I don't how much this will help, but my husband and I have been looking for a home in Martin County and here are our thoughts on the specific neighborhoods (see below). We are going to purchase a single family home and prefer kid friendly areas. We have been assured that the schools in Palm City are A rated.
The good areas: SEWALLS South Sewalls Point - $$$, holds value very well, mix of architecture, tree preserve, close to hospital Parts of North Sewalls Point – some areas worth the money, many not PALM CITY (west of these is too far out / long commute to work) Orchid Bay – bigger lots, nice mix of architecture, nice smaller subdivision, great for kids Lake Grove – bigger lots, many on a lake, nice smaller subdivision, great for kids Martin Downs – bigger lots, older homes, good for kids, don’t have to get golf membership Hammock Creek – small lots & cookie cutter houses BUT great for kids, don’t have to get golf membership N STUART / JENSEN BEACH AREA (north of these is too far out / long commute to work) North River Shores - canal front, bigger lots, older homes, $$$$, quick drive to shopping & hospital Pinecrest – subdivision, kid friendly, bigger lots, near shopping The slightly less desirable areas (okay if you find the right house) PALM CITY Windstone – a bit far out Evergreen – older people, not as kid friendly, maybe be revived in the next few years – but may not Palm Cove – older people, not as kid friendly The "not for us" areas: PALM CITY Piper's Landing – older residents, no kids, expensive golf membership required Monarch – older residents, no kids Seagate Harbor – small little canal houses, less residential feeling, not great for kids Lighthouse Point – small little canal houses, less residential feeling, not great for kids Danforth – smaller homes / lots, better for first time home buyers STUART / S STUART Most of this area – not in a good school district, older residents W STUART Most of this area – rural, way too far from work Cobblestone

My husband and I are also thinking of buying a home in the area. Any thoughts on desirable parts of Stuart, Sebastian, or Vero Beach?
We are in our 50s, no kids, self-employed and can do the work from anywhere, looking for a nice area with decent shopping, a nice Publix, near water but not on it, near good golf, area where homes will hold their value (one can only hope).
Thanks.
