I lived in Vero Beach/Sebastian for almost 10 years and miss it alot . There are very few places to have to stay away from in Vero Beach , but finding a good Real Estate agent is the best thing to do in locating a nice neighborhood to fit your needs.
Sorry I can't help you with nursing info. But there are alot of medical offices and of course the hospital in Indian River Co. Of course theres always Ft. Pierce to the south for work or Melbourne to the north if you don't mind commuting.
I personally didn't attend schools in Vero Beach or have school age kids when I lived there. But Oslo Middle would be a nicer school, Gifford is in a undesirable area. You would have to live in South Vero to attend that school I'm sure.
If your looking for "quiet" and "layback" then Vero Beach / Sebastian is the place for you. Goodluck
