Default favorite vero beach restaurant

Now that we will be moving to Vero Beach, what are the fav restaurants?
We heard the Patio is good. Been to Mulligan's. Typical beach food. Anyplace else to recommend? Something other than the TGI Friday's, Ruby Tuesday's, etc.....

We love seafood, steaks, a good burger all that tasty stuff. I also love to cook at home. So if you know of a good butcher in the area, please pass it on.

thanks

I don't eat out alot but .....

go over to the beach in the morning... to the north around 4200ocean there's a casual place called the Seaside Grille for breakfast right on the beach on the boardwalk at Jaycee Park ... I walk for a couple miles in the morning there then eat there.

Then further down, in the middle, the Ocean Grille is always crowded. Also on the beach at Sexton Plaza Beachland Blvd.

Then find Royal Palm Point off of the Indian River Blvd to your east a few blocks and south at the causeway....go to the end of the point there's a water attraction and down there it's a fountain in the ground like a huge medallion people go in and out of the water....it's on the ICW...there's some kind of seafood place next to that....I think it's called Lobster something. Maybe another one Dockside Grille? I forget if they are the same place or not...Nice ICW view too.

Authentic NY type Pizza and Italian casual is Nino's at around 43rd and 60 for a quick takeout...they opened that last year and doing killer.... their main store is over on the beach I forget where.

Maybe I'd try Gloria Estavan's Costa dEste restaurant, I read her mother made the menu and ran the kitchen initially. Have no idea if it's any good or not.

For fancy service ...French... you can try Maison Martinique. Ocean Drive or for American try The Tides over on the beach off Ocean on Cardinal I think.

I'm mostly vegetarian LOL. ON SATURDAY from 730 to 12 drive down route one to ft pierce at Orange Avenue or any of the letter streets turn left to the river. You'll see an outdoor market. It sits on a plaza ON the Intracoastal next toa luxury highrise.

I go there for most things. Produce/herbs and they have ALOT OF SEAFOOD VENDORS. I got the stone crab for my kid when they were in season and they were very fresh. They also have a BUNCH of fish nobody ever heard of LOL. In addtion to produce and fish and chicken the market sells all kinds of stuff too vast to review. Fresh bread, plants, jewelry, shirts, they have this stuff called worm manure for your plants that I use in one kiosk, "artwork", and the best is they have a ton of food kisoks like Greek, Cajun, Southern, sweets....ALL KINDS OF STUFF THERE and all nice not those roving flea market things with mostly crap or knockoff handbags LOL. You can walk up and down the ICW there and also get lunch and sit out. They even play music. DOGS ARE WELCOME THERE TOO!!!

You want to see that part of FT Pierce it's REALLY nice little downtown thing. They have a restaurant supply store and also an authentic Greek restaurant. I was married to a Greek and it's my favorite food.

Take a cooler and ice or a freeze pack bag thing it's hot out there and your produce will wilt not to mention the fish.

there's a butcher where the TJ Maxx and Panera's is but I dont know about his meats.

Free Range chicken there's a farm up near you I think...they are at the ft pierce market too. They only slaughter certain times of year....ask about the turkeys for winter.....they have a website I forget the name. Might be Fellsmere....but she's at the ft pierce thing, I saw her last week.

I was laughing she has to have a sign on her free range eggs that says "for animal use only" .....LOL like eggs are a staple for dogs.

Peterson's Grove on 66th just above 60th has groves and sells the fruit or squeezed juice and has fresh eggs from his chickens and a bunch of other stuff...also cute Florida tourist stuff....they SHIP produce. It will be on your right coming down 66th towards the mall around 37 th or so.

There are also more like that on Route 1 down around below 12th on the right. and going up toward Sebastian on the right on rt 1 i forget the name but it's a big packing plant too.

Also Brenda's produce up by you on 60 go west towards 95 her stand is before 95 on the north side and I went there alot when I lived up there in fact I still drive up there.

OMG HOW COULD I FORGET THE BEST RESTAURANT ON THE TREASURE COAST CAPTAIN HIRAMS IN SEBASTIAN LOL.

YOU GOTTA GO THERE ON A SUNDAY. LOOK ON THEIR WEBSITE ....nuff said. Also EArl's Biker Bar is right there. You have bikes, right? It's fun. GO THERE!!

the fresh seafood mkt sounds great. And the fresh vege's.
We were at Earl's biker bar this past Sunday. They have a simple blt and its good. Great for a quick breakfast.
Capt.Hiram's is okay. Been there. Bit pricey and very international. Great place to have a cocktail though

Everytime we want to eat at the Ocean Grill they are closed. Hence we end up at Mulligan's. I know once we move into our "new"home we will bbq-ing a bunch. We are not much for eating out a lot either, but its a treat.

thanks for the info.

Avanzare is our favorite Italian Restaurant. VB Grille for burgers. Riverside for fish tacos. Dockside for burgers with ambiance. Captain Hirams is pretty bad!! Our last excursion up there we had fish sandwiches, no glaze, just a rubbery chewy fish chunk on a roll. I hear their mussels are great though.

How well said...lol....and my 2 fav hangouts, I might add !
Those 2 places mentioned are totally casual, relaxed....and fitting right in with the Florida lifestyle.
But, during the "off season, Hiram's isn't doing to much though......(at least they didn't last year !)
Us "bikers" usually meet at Earl's....and head out to either Melbourne or Okeechobee Lake.
Good times and a BLAST !

If you desire something fancy, I can highly recommend the "Yellow Dog Cafe"....right on US1. I think that would be already considered Melbourne, but it's only a short drive from Sebastian.
Somewhat moderately priced....but, awesome and delish food, views onto the water, and outside patio seating if desired !

Default No tex-mex...but,

there is a good Mexican Restaurant I can suggest :
Ay Jalisco; 1814 US Highway 1; Sebastian, FL (Florida) 32958-1617
Ay Jalisco; 1903 20th Street; Vero Beach, FL (Florida) 32960-3571

I know that one here in Sebastian is ALWAYS busy, and the food is very good. (Been there 3 days ago for their annual Cinco de Mayo celebration, where they had a live local Mexican Band...it's was a lot of fun ! )
I have heard that they have 2 locations in Vero as well, but haven't been there yet.
But, they are well known here in the area, and all of the locations are always busy, it seems.
