Default PSL taxes and insurance on house???

I am told again and again that PSL has a higher tax base than some other areas. I am also told that insurance is higher East of the turnpike. Trying to get a good idea of just what I can expect to pay.

Say the house is $120,000. Approximately what can I expect to pay in taxes?

If the house is east of the turnpike, what can I expect to pay for insurance? west of the turnpike?

Any PSL homeowners want to give it a shot...thanks.

Well if you take the homestead exemption it should be between $3000 and $4000. I don't know about east of the Turnpike but you definately should call the county and ask if the house is in a flood zone before you get an insurance quote. Homeowners insurance is relatively cheap around $700 but don't forget to add the Fema flood insurance. It is well worth it. I think that was $300. The city of PSL has a tax accessors site that you can get all the tax information for a particular addresss. Just go to Property Appraiser - St.Lucie County, FL and search by address.

Look up the specific house and others in the neighborhood. This will give you an idea. When it comes to taxes and insurance it is always better to estimate a bit higher than you might think. This way if it is less you feel better about it.
