I have a 1997 F150 truck that I use "around town" (less than 3,000 miles per year). It has some rust and is in, "not new" condition. However, it has some life left in her, and looks better than a lot of other rust buckets I see on the road. Does anyone have a recommendation for an inspection station in Cumberland County (I need an E sticker) that deals with such trucks. I am not looking to break any laws. If the truck is not road worthy (safe), I don't want a phony or fake sticker. Just a knowledgeable mechanic that understands older vehicles.
I don't have much scope on car inspection places, but I've only ever taken my vehicle to the Irving on Shore Road in Cape Elizabeth. I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty. They seem incredibly fair and honest, and were great for inspections or car fixes.
You could also try Bothels Mechanical Repair 94 Ocean House Rd, Cape Elizabeth, ME 04107 207-799-2510 He's incredibly honest and fair. I've taken my car into him telling him I needed something done and when I pick it up he says...no you only needed this. Seems very concerned with his customers pocket book, does good work too! My 2003 has always passed inspection. He has a good face book page too....offers tips ans things to watch out for.
