Long Term Rental, Old Town Historic Area (Portland, South Portland: apartments, rentals)

HI.......

I'm looking to rent a 1/2 bedroom apartment in the "Old Town Historic Area" of Portland. I'd like to be in the center of the arts and old port area. Preferably an apt in one of the older bldgs that has character. I do not own a car, so I'd like something where I could walk most anywhere. I only need to shop for groceries/misc........and have nice restaurants, pubs, etc.

I've been searching for days and I can't find anything. Could someone suggest a place that handles these type of rentals? Anything? I;m just lost.

It's referred to as the Old port so that might help. everything is close enough to walk and there there's decent bus transportation.
