I live in Falmouth and it's a great town. Cape is also good too. They are both upscale expensive areas to live but I would guess Cape is more expensive. Both towns are very convienient to Portland so either one would be a good choice if you have the money to live there.

It's six of one a half dozen of the other. Both are very good communities with excellent school systems. They sandwich Portland, so you are only a few minutes from all the cultural aspects Portland has to offer, and yet you are in relatively quiet communities that lend themselves to upper middle class families.

If you are able to purchase real estate in either, you will have gained a home in some of the finest areas of the state.

In addition to being close to fine recreation, museums, the coast, boating opportunities, golf courses, museums, terrific dining , symphony orchestras, professional sports, concerts, colleges, fine medical and health care facilities, good shopping, an airport, train depot all in a relatively medium populated area, you are only about a ninety minute drive to Boston.

I have an aunt & uncle in Falmouth and both their daughters went through the Falmouth schools with great success. Excellent school system and a very nice town, somewhat snooty perhaps, but not as much as Cape Elizabeth would be.

T,

Both towns are worth looking into, you may find a house you like better in one town than the other.

Welcome to the forum!

They both seem desirable, but Falmouth is a little bit of the tourist radar, while Cape Elizabeth is on it.

I don't see how you say Falmouth is on the tourist radar. We have no hotels. The only motel we have is a dive. The only thing we have is a Wal Mart, a couple of grocery stores and a bunch of banks. Oh yeah, and 2 golf courses but that's about it. In fact I would say the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth attracts more tourists than anything in Falmouth would.
