Relocating physician interested in renting (cabin/farm/barn/homestead), Summer 2014 (Portland: to rent, moving)

Hello and good day,
I'm a mature, professional and mindful physician relocating back to Southern Maine in June/July, 2014 (career advancement position, contract signed), wishing to rent for at least six months to a year while searching for more permanent housing. Will be moving with my significant other, at this time without children nor pets, though we will be starting a family and small farm when permanently settled. Non-smoker/drinkers, no TV, outdoor enthusiasts. We are conscientious, tidy, polite, reliable; guaranteed no drama. Interested in Cumberland/Sagadahoc/Androscoggin counties, but will entertain more inland, like Oxford, as long as access to both Lewiston-Auburn and Portland is within ~ 30-45 min. Hoping for a modest cabin, quaint farm, converted barn, four season camp, homesteading opportunity. Meaningful property characteristics: rustic, wood/radiant heat, land, natural sunlight, passive and active solar, wind, energy efficiency, established garden, garage/barn space for at least two vehicles (more a plus!). Privacy and quiet within natural surroundings are most important to us. We are interested only in stand-alone housing without shared walls/space/structures, and are respectfully not interested in sharing or co-habitation. Would consider presently furnished, or even property/house care opportunity (again six months to year +) if the right fit. Thank you for your time, and happy holidays!
