Married daughter and husband just moved to Portland / Falmouth area. Looking for short-term-stay (1-2 weeks) apartment or other accomodation for when we visit. Any suggestions?

If you visit in the summer or early Fall, you can find all sorts of private rentals in Scarborough, and OOB near the beach. Check the Portland Press Herald on line or go to rentmls.com.

A winter visit may be a bit tougher- not sure off hand of any extended stay type motel/hotel places.

Good luck and have a wonderful visit!!

There's an Extended Stay America hotel on the Payne Road in Scarborough (about 1 mile south of the Maine Mall). There's a Shaw's supermarket almost literally across the street. From here, it's about a 10 minute drive to Portland; tack on another 5-15 minutes to reach Falmouth (West Falmouth, Foreside).
