Default know anything about these towns??

know anything about the towns below? i.e. Good place for families, traffic to and from Portland, town feel, anything else?

Pownal
Windham area
Standish
Gray

I live in this area and love it. From Gray you can get into Portland quick since you are at an exit for rt. 95. In Windham you have about 1/2 hour to drive into Portland plus or minus. Good luck.

navigator72 is on a distinguished road
Standish: 30 minutes from Portland, kind of in the sticks
Windham: 20-30 minutes from Portland. nice spots, close to Sebago lake... very busy in the summer.
Gray: no too far from the other two. I have heard people say Gray is the armpit of Maine ( great animal farm)

Pownal is nice too. It's a little bit off the beaten path but that is what makes it attractive to many folks. If your kids like the country/farm life they will like Pownal, if not you should pick a place closer to Portland.
