Default New Home Developments In Falmouth Foreside?

My family and I are planning a move to Maine within the next 12-18 months. We are very attracted to the Falmouth/Falmouth Foreside area. We would love the opportunity to find a land developer and get dibs on a newly-made or soon-to-be-made home. If anyone has any information or the name of a contact person I could be referred to I would so greatly appreciate it!

Thank you,
Our Family

Default New Developments

I realize this is an old post, and I apologize in advance for my reply. I would venture to guess that you have fallen in love with the Falmouth area because of its character among many other things. However, adding more new homes and developments KILLS that character. If you want ot move there, respect the area and the people and buy something that already exists. You may argue that this would not help the local contractors. Well, bottom line is that the developers are the ones who would get hurt, and you can always hire the local craftsmen to alter a home to suit your needs.

If you would like proof of the desecration of this area by developments, you need only look at maps.google.com, locate the area and click the satellite link. There you will see the raping of the land that is occing because of these new developments. There are plenty of homes already on the market.

Sadly, my opinoins I am sure will not change your mind, and your one new home isn;t going to ruin the area, but when everyone starts doing it, you end up killing the very thing that makes a place special. Then, since the "magic" is gone, you move on to some other special place and do it again.

Best of luck in your search, and hope maybe you will reconsider a "new" house.

All the best.
