Portland physics teacher Bob Crowley won $1,100,000 last night at the conclusion of this season of Survivor. I believe this is the third or fourth contestant from Maine and the first winner.

Host Jeff Probst sometimes visits Maine.

There is a thread about Survivor in the Entertainment | TV forum.

i thought it was pretty good. He played the game very well. Few of teh others contestants were rather arrogant to say the least.

He is supposed to have been on the CBS Early show this morning, I don't know if the segment has aired yet. I've been yakking on the phone w/ my sister all morning.

Anyone remember Zoe from Maine that was on Survivor? She was a trip, and turned her 15 minutes of fame into about 30 with the Maine's Female Lobsterman calendar! My sister was "Miss December"

I have no idea where Zoe is now, I suspect back on Vinal Haven.

Zoe was living on Monhegan Island when she was on the show.

Thanks mensaguy, my bad. Although I'm pretty sure she has ties to Vinal Haven.

I had my second glass of birthday Bailey's while we watched this last night. I hadn't seen the show in about 6 years! I didn't know til the end the guy was from Maine, but I thought it was pretty cool he won!!!

He used his common sense when he practiced one whole afternoon to be ready for the challenge of building a fire for survival if a tie situation came up. Held him in good stead when he needed to pull it off and did!!!
