Default Apartment/Townhomes near Portland?

Considering relocating from downstate NY to Portland area for work.

Been to Maine several times, family has a home near Augusta so we are generally familiar with the state - weather, taxes, etc....

What I would like to know are any opinions on nicer townhomes/apartments near Portland. Within a 30 minute drive is acceptable. No pets and no kids - just wife and myself.

Do not enjoy living in a downtown setting so the Gorham, Yarmouth areas - or simialr - is what we are after.

Want to rent at first. Once we are sure we will settle, we will consider a home purchase.

Any recommendations?

Thank you.

hi dave, there are brand new well-built condo's right off the auburn exit. they are only a half hr from portland. they are brand new, and you get to custom design your own, they start at 279k, on east hardscrabble rd, within a quarter-mile of auburn exit.
the development is called colonial ridge, id highly recommend these, they are stunning!
