Default Time Warner Service in Portland?

In looking for ways to cut our bills down, I came across the Time Warner package for tv, internet, and phone that would save about $25/mo now, and even more when my Fairpoint 12-mo promo price ends.

I already have TW tv and internet and they aren't great, but they work well enough. However, it's the TW digital phone i worry about. I've heard many horror stories about VOIP telephone service, which is what the TW service is, and I've always stayed away from it and trusted the tried and true copper phone lines.

Can anybody tell me if they have the TW digital phone service, and are they happy with it? are 'outages' common? how is the sound quality?

thanks so much for any help.

The sound quality is fine. Every once in a while we have some flakiness of it not working but often if you reboot the modem it's okay. They are good for customer service. I'm not unhappy with it enough to go to Fairpoint. I was at first but they came out and tweaked something with our line and it's been better. It's nice that it has unlimited calling and features like call-forwarding, caller id, etc. However, if fairpoint was the same price I would go with fairpoint. But it's significantly cheaper if bundled with the other stuff.
