Default Brunswick

I would recommend Wild Oats Bakery in the Tontine Mall, it's on Maine St near the Pleasant St intersection, just behind Bullmoose Music. They offer a wide selection of homemade soups, salads and great healthy sandwiches all made on bread they make there fresh every day. They also offer a nice homemade fruit salad everyday, but get there early. My favorite day to go is on Fridays, for their fish chowder. IMO, it's the best around.

It's not fancy, you order and pick up at the counter as well as clean your own table after, but as far as great healthy food made on the premises, you just can't beat it.

Oh and if you're in need of a homemade pie, cakes, cookies or quiche, they have those too.

Enjoy, yum yum!

Oh, it's not a real mall! It's a mini little shopping area that once upon a time (read 45 yrs ago) was home to Goodwins Chevrolet! It's now home to about 10-15 tiny little shops and a teeny little one screen movie theatre.

The "mall" that you will hear referred to in downtown Brunswick is the long grassy park like area on Maine St. Home to a couple little hot dog stands, park benches, Bowdoin College kids sitting around reading and families with little kids out enjoying a nice spring/summer day.

If you want Pizza go to Uno's, though it is a chain restaraunt.

Try the Sea Dog just over the bridge (from downtown Brunswick) in Topsham. Nice view of the river, pretty decent eats, and a "local" (Maine-based) chain.

I've had excellent dining experiences at both the Sea Dog in Topsham and Bangor. The food is basic pub grub but very good and the hand crafted ales and beer are excellent!
