Default Schools in the Portland area

Honestly, how are the schools in the Portland area? This would include outlying areas, too. Thanks!

The schools in Portland itself are fine, for the most part. Deering High is supposed to be slightly better than Portland High, but they are both decent schools. Elementary schools are all decent from what I have been told or read. Cheverus High School is a private institution and is considered to be a very good high school. Waynflete is a private high school that is also supposed to be a great school. The Casco Bay College is supposed to be an excellent school, it is an expeditionary (sp?) school where the student works on a project the whole year, out in the community and such (I believe). In the area surrounding Portland, Scarborough has excellent schools that put a large emphasis on academics. Gorham, Cape Elizabeth, and South Portland schools are good. I live in Saco, the highschool here is great and the other schools are decent. Hope this helps a little!
