Smile Juniper apartments in Yarmouth

Im moving to southern Maine in the next month or so and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Juniper apartment complex in Yarmouth. I need a place that takes dogs since Im not giving up my cairn terrier to live somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I know someone who lived there for5 years, they just bought a house and moved out once he got married. He liked it there. There is also a chance in a few years I might get an apartment there with a friend. I here around some of the cheaper places though it can be like Animal House.

Do you mean cheaper places at that complex or in the Portland area?

Default Former tenant at Junipers

Might as well jump in somewhere here...I rented at the Junipers for 6 months in 2002. Was treated very well, enjoyed the locale, quick trip to Route 1 and 95 to get to either Portland or Freeport/Brunswick. Remember having a couple of plumbing problems which were cured by the management in short order. I can't answer the dog question, didn't have one at the time ;-)

If you don't mind living in a beehive, Juniper is the place for you. Places are in reasonably OK condition, but there are unbelievable numbers and varieties of people living there! No privacy whatsoever for the middle two units down, as the neighbors walk back and forth in front of the bay windows. If you are a privacy freak don't rent there. Also, NO separate in-house storage for each apt., (no basement) so don't plan on taking much with you that needs storage, you'll have to rent space. Understand that there is space to store bikes and that type of article. I am glad I am not the one renting there! SMALL playground equipment for children, but a large area. Personally, I would not feel comfortable taking a child or children into that mix...Mix of students, young folks, welfare, low-income. Did not see many who appeared to be 'professionals.' At least at the complex we were visiting. Lots of smokers. Etc.

I lived in the original Juniper Ledge complex...the multiple level condos...waaayyy back in 1970-71. It was relatively new and quite upscale for the area then. We liked it very much. Our rent for the one bedroom was $195 a month.

I think sometimes new posters don't pay attention to the date of the original post.

Ah, let me reply. My son just moved to Juniper...I was truly set back on my heels by the sheer numbers of bodies living there. I did a google search and this website came up.
GO SOX!

I agree with you, I think people google things and on many ocassions the city data thread will pop up because it is related to the question just googled. Then they respond without looking at the date of the post. Simple oversight.
