LOL, yeah that name rocks. Cheeva town? Is that what they call it?
Looking at the link I provided, I am liking the Reed/Woodstock area.

Moved Near Providence to Portland where to live
I'm moving to PDX in August. I'd love suggestions of where to look for housing, and here are my criteria:
I'd like it be near Providence Hospital (In Portland. Not seaside), say within eight miles or so, and funky is good (coffeehouse/arthouse/thrift stores...) .I'll have a car but I hear trimet is great. So, on the trimet routes, that would be great too.
THANKS!

Wheeldog, need more info. Renting/buying? Condo/apt or house? Cheap or plush? Do you like hippie, yuppie, yippie, trendy, old, new, and anything else? Best thing to do is come here, and check out the neighborhoods within 8 miles. Tri-Met goes everywhere within the Portland metro, so no problem there.

Consider WA
It's cheaper to live in Clark County, WA. Lower taxes, both state and county and just another Portland suburb. If you can handle paying sales tax (except for big purchases where I just cross the river) and living in an area that is greatly overshadowed by the big city next door, then by all means, Clark County is great for you! Urban, suburban, and rural...it's all here! Better schools too!
I live in Troutdale and I'm moving up to Van WA this summer.

You know being a couve doesn't sound so bad.. its not such an insult to me.. but then agian I dont live in the area yet so I wouldn't know.
I like the goodpoint area.. I think I have the right.. been looking at it a bunch. But again, living across the river doesn't sound so bad either.

Since you have a need to resort to name calling, I take it that the many Oregonians moving up to Clark County concerns you?
