I couldn't find anywhere online that says how much gas prices are in and around Portland. Here where I live it's $3.89 per gallon.

I was down there this past weekend. Right around 2.80 a gallon. Which honestly is pretty good seeing as how the state has one of those ridiculously stupid "you aren't allowed to pump your own gas" laws in order to create makework jobs for no-skill workers, which gets added into the cost. Just be aware every time you fill up your tank it'll be short by about a gallon, seeing as how these guys remove the nozzle the second the lever triggers, even if you tell them to top it off or even round it to the next dollar.

Portland Gas Prices - Find Cheap Gas Prices in Oregon

BTW: I don't know if you are out of state or not, so I thought I might add that in the state of Oregon BY LAW, customers cannot pump their own gas into cars. (motorcycles a bit different.)

Please, we have had dozens of very long threads on this pump-you-own-gas and the bottom line is State Legislature ain't going to change the law. Period.

The OP currently lives in Alaska, I believe.

If you need gas at 2 A.M., there are stations open. And no, you don't have to stand out in -40 pumping your own gas while some sullen faced teenager sneers at you from behind the cash register while texting his gf.

This is becoming g-damned tiresome. It seems that every thread here is infected with the sour grapes of someone who obviously doesn't care for the Portland area. The guy seems to have some signifaicant anger problems and is using this forum as a place to act out.

No kidding. Most people are able to move on but this one is stuck in his obsessive hostility towards Portland.

The guy is all over the Oregon forums spitting hostility and it's getting a bit old to be reading along in a thread and encounter the mean spirited little weasel's remarks. Often their are snide little personal attacks in them; the guy must be really insecure.

And it seems that some people (such as yourself) lack the ability to read in that, in this very thread, I stated the prices of fuel in the area are pretty good in spite of a law most people consider ridiculous.

See, it takes me a grand total of about 60 seconds to catch up on each individual forum I read, and maybe another 30 seconds to post in them....and I get paid to do it. As I have spare time while at work, it's a great way to pass the time. Don't like it? Skip over the name. I promise, I won't even notice your absence. I find it funny you start spouting off about this in a thread where the guy obviously didn't know about the little "caveat" to gas in Oregon and needed to be told. Find one thing factually inaccurate in what I posted. I'd post the exact same thing in New Jersey (sans the "the price is pretty good", since it's not).

Ohhhh, wait, I get it. We're not supposed to tell this guy, who is obviously trying to plan a road trip by which he'll be going through Oregon en route to somewhere, why it is he's going to fill up with gas and possibly notice that he needs to fill up 30 or 40 miles sooner than he usually does (because the guy pumping his gas won't fill the tank like a normal person does when they pump their own). Best to just leave that as a mystery or to have him think that somehow he's been burning more fuel than he has. THat's brilliant for someone who is obviously budgeting.

No, I think that the OP is considering relocating to Portland. He is living in Alaska just now.

Nothing at all wrong with telling the guy he won't be able to pump his own gas. It's comments like this that seem to infest your every post that are becoming quite a crashing bore:

.

It must serve some purpose in your life, though. This is probably the only venue available to you which allows you the illusion that you're really what you're trying to portray yourself to be here. Seems like the majority of your posts include the kind of snide, superior, and quasi self impressed tone particular to people with very deep seated inferiority issues.

You should consider a hobby...something to take you "outside of yourself". Seattle looks to have a pretty good backyard/urban farming support system in place; perhaps you should look into options such as keeping a little flock of chickens et al. Maybe even a couple of geese.
