Default What's the hair/beauty industry like in Portland

I am currently a hairstylist in a trendy salon in Los Angeles. I am considering moving to Portland and starting over. Provided I work at a nice salon, what could I expect to charge for hair services in Portland? Can a hairstylist manage to afford a home in Portland? I currently earn $80 for a haircut in Ca, but housing is so expensive I can never own my own home. Are there many commision salons in Portland that a stylist with no clients can work at, or is the hair industry dominated by booth renters? I am also considering a move to Denver as well, earing a decent living is important to me. What do you pay for your hair?
